Employment Pass (EP) for Professional Employees and Entrepreneurs

Employment Pass allows foreign professionals to establish a company and reside in Singapore. There are 3 different types of employment passes namely: P1, P2 and Q1 Pass. Q1 pass is applicable for applicants earning a fixed salary of more than 2,500 SGD per month. Applicants who earn more than 3,500 SGD per month is eligibile for P2 Pass. P1 Pass is applicable for applicants earning a fixed salary of more than 7,000 SGD per month.

Employment Pass (EP) Eligibility Requirements
Employment Pass applicants are assessed based on their qualification, age, declared income and their job title in the company.
The minimum requirements for Employment Pass (EP) consist of the following:
  • Fixed salary or more than 2,500 SGD per month
  • Normally a tertiary level qualification from an accredited university is required. However, your strong professional work experience and good salary may compensate for the lack of good education background.
  • If you have strong educational background, your employment history will play a lesser role.
Possessing a recognised qualification does not automatically guarantee a successful EP application, as the applicant may need to satisfy other criteria such as relevant work experience or professional skills.

Timeline
Ministry of Manpower (MOM) process Employment Pass (EP) application within one to seven working days.

You may apply for EPEC to stay in Singapore for up to a period of one year. Read Work Pass - Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC) Visa for more details.

Default Work Pass - Employment Pass Visa

Hi
For a while now, the Indian government has been cracking down on tourists remaining in India long-term, and going on visa runs to neighboring counties such as Nepal. It's become quite difficult to get back to back six month tourist visas for India, without going home. Now, the restrictions placed on Indian tourist visas are even tougher. Earlier this month, the government introduced a new rule that has the potential to affect EVERYONE with a valid multiple entry tourist visa who wants to re-enter India.

Default How to find a job in Singapore cost-effectively from your home country

To: rakeshsriram

If you still have your question unanswered, here are some information for you:

1. Broaden your job search scope. Look beyond internet. You may like to subscribe The Straits Times newspaper, Saturday edition, The Recruitment Section. If you can get it delivered to your address in your home country, make sure it is within a week, otherwise it may be too late.

2. Get local mailing address, local telephone number, local mobile number and local email address (such as @yahoo.com.sg), so that your employer can contact you easily and don't have to make IDD call to contact you. To do this, you can either - come to Singapore in person, or (this is the better and The smart way) you can use Virtual Home Singapore concept. Just Google "Virtual Home Singapore", this allows you to do job search from your home country.

Hope it answers your question.

Regards,
Lazarus Lauw
